KITTERY, Maine - A Berwick man was critically injured early today when his vehicle overturned on the Maine Turnpike in Kittery.
The rollover occurred around 12:10 a.m. in the area of mile marker 2 southbound where responding troopers found a Buick sedan on its roof blocking the left and middle lanes, according a release fromDept. of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss sent out this afternoon.
Troopers located the driver, identified as 48-year-old Kristopher Robidas-Adams of Berwick, trapped inside the vehicle, but were unable to free him due to the severity of the damage.
Soon after Kittery Fire/EMS along with York Fire/EMS provided medical aid and were able to extricate Robidas-Adams. who was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
The Turnpike was fully closed southbound from exit 7 for about two hours.
The crash remains under investigation.
