ROCHESTER - Bernadette (Huppe) Duchesneau, beloved wife, doting mother and devoted memere died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Sept. 29, 2024. Bernie was born on Oct. 4, 1947, in Rochester to Alcide and Blanch Huppe.

Bernie leaves behind her high school sweetheart and husband of 56 years, Dennis Duchesneau and her beloved golden retriever Jake. She is predeceased by her daughter Lisa and her husband Scott Reid. She is survived by her daughter Michelle Whelan and her husband James Arthur Whelan as well as her grandchildren Brandon Reid and his wife Chelsea, Tyler Reid and Leah Whelan and two great grandchildren, Theodore and Addison Reid.

Bernie attended Holy Rosary High School in Rochester and belonged to the Graniteers Drum and Bugle corps with whom she traveled around the country and made numerous lifelong friends.

Until retirement, Bernadette worked in insurance where she found great success as a Commercial Lines Account Manager and was very proud of the CPCU certification she had been awarded.

In her free time, Bernie enjoyed spending time camping and vacationing with her family. She was known for her love of playing card games with her friends, baking her famous whoopie pies and the occasional trip to Foxwoods or Oxford where she always seemed to find the big win.
