DOVER - A Massachusetts man died from injuries sustained in a crash on the Spaulding on Thursday that closed both lanes headed north from the Weeks Crossing exit in Dover.
State troopers responded to the scene just north of Exit 8 around 8 a.m. where they found that a 2024 Western Star dump truck, driven by Jamie L. Joy, 55, of Pittsfield, had stopped in the right lane due to traffic and was rear-ended by a 2016 Lincoln Navigator driven by James L. Stammers, 39, of Lynn, who died at the scene.
The driver of the dump truck was uninjured.
The crash closed both northbound lanes headed toward Rochester with police diverting all northbound traffic off the highway at Exit 8.
The crash remains under investigation.
