ROCHESTER - The Aug. 5 City Council meeting will be delayed till 6:30 p.m so that councilors and other city officials can attend National Night Out.
The event will take place from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Spaulding High School Torr's Park, also known as "the triangle".
Part of a nationwide celebration held throughout the United States, Rochester's National Night Out is designed to strengthen police-community relationships and promote crime prevention.
This year's event will feature more than 20 local organizations and businesses, as well as local food vendors and live music. Families can enjoy a variety of activities, including a petting zoo, pony rides, and a "touch a safety vehicle" experience for young children.
Following the main event, a free family-friendly movie will be hosted by Guyer Travel International from 8:30-10 p.m.
