GONIC - Anna Louise Richey, 97, a longtime resident of Gonic, died on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at the Riverside Rest Home, Dover. Anna died from complications caused by the COVID-19 virus. She was born November 23, 1923, in Lynn, Mass., to parents Percy Amero and Alberta Sanborn.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, O'Neil Richey, sons Jere Thompson and Ronald Richey, her siblings June Kimball, John Amero and Harold Amero.
Surviving family members include: three daughters Bonnie Lorenz (husband Steve) of Tucson, Ariz., Sharon Richey and Carolyn Beranger (husband Scott) of Rochester; daughter-in-law Debra Thompson of Sanbornville; two sons Paul Richey (wife Donna) of Fredericksburg, Va., and Jay Richey (wife Renee) of Siloam Spring, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Anna also leaves her lifelong friend Clelia Urcuioli; they participated in activities together including the Historical Society and Spaulding Alumni Association.
Anna's other earlier interests included local politics and leisure activities such as golfing with friends and family.
Anna was ready to join her many family members and friends in heaven; she is already missed by those left behind.
