MILTON - Allan L. Smith of Milton, Retired USAF, died on Nov. 18, 2024, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital surrounded by his family. He was 81 years old.

The son of Leslie and Margaret Smith, he was born Dec. 6, 1942, in Newburgh, N.Y.. He joined the Air Force after graduating high school, traveling around the world where he met the love of his life, his wife, Yuri, in Okinawa, Japan. Together they raised four children. They lived in Okinawa, California, Maine and finally settled in New Hampshire. He enjoyed life, scuba diving, taking photos, gardening, camping, hunting and fishing, spending time with his wife and family, cracking a good joke or two and a few beers.

Survivors include his wife, Yuri; a son, George and Sharon Smith of Rome, N.Y.; two daughters, Carol Boyer of Milton, Brenda and Jerry Ruhe of Mystic, Conn., grandchildren, Amy Lasack, Jennifer Culley, Tina Kimbrell, Tom Powers, Justin Powers, Jason Smith, Chad Smith, Melissa Smith, Steffanie Carter and Avery Ruhe; as well as 15 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Susan Kimbrell; son-in-laws, Dave Kimbrell and Paul Boyer; and his brother, Gary.
