Your voice: A letter from selectman candidate Robie Marsters

This letter is an explanation of my goals that I will try to implement if elected selectman for Lebanon. To anyone who doesn't know me I stand for the following ethics.

 #1 Honesty

Every department has to be honest. Anyone that knows me knows how honest I am.

#2 TRANSPARENCY

I believe that the people of Lebanon deserve and should be more informed in the matters of the town with all the facts. Not just the facts that the selectmen want the people to know. 

#3 ACCOUNTABILITY

All departments have to step up to the plate and work in the best interest of the town. Department heads have to be accountable for what they are doing not only to selectmen but to the people.

#4 BID AND QUOTE SYSTEM

All departments should work to secure the best price or product for the money spent. Special interest should NOT be tolerated.

 #5 MASTER PLAN

A master plan should be put into effect for upcoming expenditures. There should be a plan for replacing equipment and for road repair.

#6 CAPITAL RESERVE ACCOUNT As I understand it there is going to be a referendum asking for an account to be set up for major equipment purchases. This should have been done years ago but no one would listen. WHY?

Another thing is how many things have been swept under the rug without anyone knowing.

BE UP FRONT AND HONEST, STOP THE BACK ROOM POLITICS NOW.

Return the town government to the people. They are the ones that pay the bills and should know how that money’s spent.
