Woman who led police on Spaulding chase arrested

Ashley N. Leighton

Police on Wednesday arrested the New Hampshire woman who led police on a chase through Rochester and Milton earlier this month before the pursuit was called off by State Police.

Ashley N. Leighton, 23, of Mason, but who also has ties to Milton and Lebanon, was directed to stop her vehicle for an apparent infraction as she headed northbound on Route 16 on Sept. 2 in Rochester, but she failed to yield and a chase began.

State Police said the chase continued from the Spaulding Turnpike onto Route 125 through north Rochester and into Milton, where ultimately the State Police chose

to terminate the pursuit.

She was wanted by the Somersworth Police Department and Lee Police Department for other outstanding warrants as well as new warrants by the New Hampshire State Police on charges of reckless conduct, driving after suspension, reckless operation and disobeying a police officer related to the pursuit.
