ROCHESTER - A Wolfeboro man was arrested today in two recent Rochester bank robberies that occurred within a week of each other.

Jake Chiaradonna, 28, of 16a North Line St., was charged with two counts of felony robbery.

Chiaradonna is alleged to have robbed the Citizen's Bank located in Hannaford's Supermarket at 11 Milton Road on Oct. 5 and the TD Bank North located at 1 Old Dover Road in the Merchant's Plaza on Oct. 11.

In both cases a male entered the bank presenting a note saying he had a weapon and left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Chiaradonna was served at the Carroll County Jail where he was being held after having been arrested by the US Marshall's Service and Wolfeboro Police on Thursday on active bench warrants for failing to appear in court on unrelated charges.

Chiaradonna refused bail on the robbery charges and continued to be held at the Carroll County Jail pending his arraignment on the robbery charges later today.

Rochester Police were assisted during the course of this investigation by the Strafford County Sheriff's Office, US Marshall's Fugitive Task Force, and Wolfeboro Police Department.
