ISLES OF SHOALS - As Seacoast residents may know, the Pelican staff at the Oceanic Hotel is a treasured and critical part of the Star Island experience.

Star Island is the second largest land mass of the historic Isles of Shoals located some seven miles off the coast of Portsmouth.
The hospitality that Pelican staff offer guests influences their stay and strengthens their bond with the island.

The unique work environment offers the "Pels" an enriching learning experience that, in many cases, shapes future careers. Pelicans are the term affectionately given seasonal workers who serve as cooks, dishwashers, maids and other staff at the hotel.

Star Island is now seeking candidates for this coming summer.

Anyone 18 and older can apply.

The best way to apply is through the Star Island website: www.starisland.org/working. The deadline is Jan. 28.

All first year applicants must provide two completed reference forms.
