Update: N.H. man's body found at bottom of pond

SHAPLEIGH, Maine - A man's body was found on the bottom of Square Pond near Treasure Island in Shapleigh today.

Details remain sketchy but it appears Richard Fraser, 65, of Manchester, N.H., who either rented or owned a cottage on Treasure Island, went missing last night drawing a search from family members who were unable to find him.

This morning his body was discovered on the bottom of the lake on the Shapleigh side, in about nine feet of water approximately 90 feet from shore, according to a press release from York County Sheriff Bill King. The YCSO received word of the discovery around 10 a.m.

Fraser's remains were transported to the Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta to determine a specific cause of death.
