Tragedy in Naples as toddler killed in driveway in freak accident

NAPLES, Maine - Tragedy struck in Naples on Saturday as a toddler succumbed to injuries after they were struck in their driveway when the boy's father was moving a pickup truck and trailer.
First responders got the 911 call around 1:05 p.m. for an unresponsive 2-year-old in the area of Lambs Mills Road. Shortly after the call the Naples Fire Department reported there was an unresponsive 2-year-old child at their station where emergency workers life-saving measures proved unsuccessful.
Cumberland County Deputies responded and learned the child was struck in the driveway of a residence on Lambs Mills Road. The investigation revealed the father of the child was moving a pickup truck and camper trailer and unable to see the child when the child was struck.
At this time names of all involved are being withheld pending notification of additional family members.
In a press release sent early today Maine Dept. of Public Safety Officer Shannon Moss noted this was a difficult time for all involved and urged media to respect the privacy of the family at their time of loss.
