ROCHESTER - Three teenagers, including at least two from Rochester, were injured on Thursday night in a spectacular accident on Blackwater Road near the Dover town line.

The single-vehicle crash occurred around 11:30 p.m., and drew an immediate response from Dover and Rochester Police as well as EMTs from both Frisbie and Wentworth Douglas.

Police say an investigation revealed that Colby Brown, 18, of Rochester, was traveling north on Blackwater Road in a Chevrolet Blazer when the vehicle failed to negotiate a sharp right turn and left the roadway causing it to strike a large rock and a tree. The vehicle suffered extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

Brown suffered what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries and was transported to Wentworth Douglas Hospital by Dover Fire.

Austin Brock, 18, of Rochester and an unidentified 16-year-old male were passengers in the vehicle and also suffered apparent nonlife-threatening injuries. Both were transported to Frisbie Hospital.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, said police, who were not immediately available to comment on whether speed could've contributed to the cause.
