Teen bicyclist injured in collision with car

ROCHESTER - A teenage bicyclist was hurt in a collision with a car in the downtown on Saturday.

Rochester Police were called to the corner of Portland Street and South Main Street around 7 p.m. and found that the driver of a black Honda Accord, Luke Alexander, 31, of 59 Pineland Park Road, Milton, had struck the young man, Tyler Forrest, 18, of 10 Chestnut Street Apt. A. It was said Alexander was traveling southbound on South Main at the time of the crash.

Forrest was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries by Frisbie EMS.

As a result of the investigation, Officers summonsed the bicyclist for not having a headlamp. The Honda Accord sustained minor damage and was drivable, while the bike took heavy damage.
