ROCHESTER - A Weare man who had several warrants out for his arrest ran from Rochester Police officers when they responded to a Columbus Avenue apartment complex for the report of a suspicious male on April 12.
Police got involved around 3:15 p.m. after a caller reported there was a suspicious male wearing a red jacket in the area of the Linscott Apartments, Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham said on Friday.
"We responded, located the male and identified him as Michael Elliott," Pinkham said. "Once identified, Elliott began to run from the Officers, however he was quickly apprehended and taken into custody without further issues."
Officers soon learned that Elliot. 31, of Weare, had three active warrants for his arrest, including an EBW (Electronic Bench Warrant), a Capias Warrant from Strafford Superior Court and a Warrant out of Rochester for theft and two counts of simple assault.
Elliott refused bail and was taken to Strafford County Jail.
He also drew an additional resisting arrest charge for running from the officers.
