Suspicious fairgrounds fire takes down livestock barn

ROCHESTER - City police are investigating a suspicious fire at the Granite State Fairgrounds Monday night.

The fire destroyed one of the property's barns used for exhibiting livestock at its annual fair.

City firefighters were called to the blaze a little before 7 p.m. When they arrived the barn was fully involved.

It is considered a total loss.

Mutual aid from Dover, Milton, Somersworth and Sanford and Berwick, Maine, assisted with fighting the blaze.
