Springvale motorcyclist badly injured in crash into trees

SPRINGVALE - A Springvale man was seriously injured on Sunday when his motorcycle lost control on Hopper Road and veered off the roadway into a grove of trees.

The accident occurred around 1 p.m. in the area of 300 Hopper Road.

Safety officials said Coady Smith, 23, was operating a 2012 Victory motorcycle when it crashed into woods, leaving him with what was called a serious leg injury.

He was taken by Lifeflight of Maine to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

The crash remains under investigation.
