LEBANON - A head-on collision between a semi tractor-trailer and a passenger car on Route 202 sent one driver to the hospital early today and closed the roadway for about three hours.

Lebanon Fire and EMS crews were dispatched around 1 a.m. and found a passenger car and a tractor trailer both with heavy damage on opposite sides of the roadway in the area of 653 Carl Broggi Hwy. Debris was scattered across the road, and there was a significant amount of diesel fuel and motor oil that had leaked out of the truck.

Route 202 was shut down for approximately 3 hours while crews worked to clear the roadway.

One patient was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland with what appeared to be nonlife-threatening injuries. The other driver was not injured.

There was no information immediately on which vehicle the injured driver was from.

Other agencies assisting were Maine State Police, Maine Department of Environmental Protection, Chandler's Wrecker Service and Hartford's Truck Repair.

This accident is under investigation by the Maine State Police.
