RPL Teen Room fall reading program touted as great success

ROCHESTER - The Rochester Public Library's Teen Room announced the success of its 2025 Teen Fall Reading Program which resulted in a total of 200,643 minutes of reading.

To celebrate reading this fall, teens were awarded 44 scavenger hunt prizes, 20 reading prizes, and enjoyed 53 programs and activities.

Programs included Wednesday after-school maker sessions, monthly book groups, movies, a college preparation program, a six-week Science of Well-Being class, clay creations with Mud City Clay, a six-week Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Master class, needle felting, a cosplay party, and gingerbread decorating.

Beginning Jan. 10 readers ages 12 to 18 can sign up for the Teen Winter/Spring Reading Program through the Beanstack app. Participants who read, write reviews, check out books from the collection, or participate in hygge activities receive raffle tickets toward 10 different raffle prizes, including water bottles, games, Bluetooth speakers, and more.

Upcoming programs include additional after-school programs, another Mud City Clay workshop, a babysitting class, a murder mystery program, an anti-Valentine's party, a 3D printing program, an author talk, mini bookshelf crafting, and a Money 101 program presented by Service Credit Union.
