Rochester woman badly hurt as car crashes, catches fire

ROCHESTER - A Rochester woman was seriously injured on Monday when her car struck a tree and then a parked car on Brownstone Lane before catching fire.

The crash occurred around 8:10 a.m when police say a 2002 Ford Escape was traveling east on Brownstone Lane when it hit a parked car at 36 Brownstone Lane before striking a tree in front of the same home and catching fire.

The driver, Bobbi Rivard of Rochester, was taken by ambulance to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
