ROCHESTER - Did you know that the Rochester Police Department has a Police Cadet Post? The Rochester Police Department welcomes anyone between the ages of 14-20 to participate. Police Cadets meet bi-weekly throughout the school year to learn about many aspects of police work.
The classes give cadets a hands-on experience and a look into a career in law enforcement. Some topics include:
- Traffic Stops
- SWAT
- Police Response to Domestic Violence
- Police K-9's
- Evidence Collection
- Firearms safety
- Defensive Tactics
- Interview and Interrogations
The Rochester Police Cadets hosted their first meeting last month.
