PORTSMOUTH - A Rochester man was arrested Friday afternoon after allegedly exposing himself on a public bus.

Robert Morrill, 53, of Pine Knoll Drive, was charged with felony indecent exposure and lewdness, a Class B felony, as he had been convicted of a similar offense in 2009.

Police got the call around 1:15 p.m. and responded to the area of 1700 Woodbury Ave where they found the bus stopped by the side of the road.

According to a Portsmouth Police press release, the incident began when a female passenger told the bus driver a man sitting in the back of the bus was partially undressing and engaging in behavior consistent with masturbation. The woman told officers she saw Morrill's genitals.

Morrill was released on $750 personal recognizance pending his arraignment next month in Portsmouth District Court.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have information is encouraged to contact Officer Max Webber at the Portsmouth Police Department at 610-7509.
