DOVER - A Rochester man has been indicted in an April shooing on Summer Street in Rochester.
Jason Levesque, 44, of 41 Summer St., stands officially charged with attempted murder, which can draw a life sentence; and first-degree assault, punishable by up 15 years in state prison.
Police and Frisbie Rescue got involved around 10:20 p.m. on April 4 as they responded to the area of 41-43 Summer St. for a report of several gun shots fired and found a male victim, 37-year-old Kyle Violette, on the sidewalk with several gunshot wounds.
Officers administered care to stop the bleeding until Fire and EMS personnel arrived on scene, according to a statement from Rochester Police. The male victim was then transported by Frisbie EMS to Frisbie Memorial Hospital and then transferred to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
As a result of the on-scene investigation officers arrested Levesque charging him with attempted second degree murder (Class A Felony), second degree assault (Class B Felony), and reckless conduct (Class B Felony).
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been handed down to move forward to trial.
