DOVER, N.H. - A Rochester man has been indicted in the theft of three guitars from a Dover resident nearly two years ago.

Seamus Murphy, 32, with a last-known address of 36 Farmington Road, Rochester, stands charged with theft by unauthorized taking in connection with the Dec. 11, 2012, incident which occurred in Dover, said Dover Police Lt. David Martinelli today.

Murphy could serve anywhere from three and a half to seven years and have to pay up to a $4,000 fine if found guilty of the crime, a Class B felony.

A Strafford County grand jury handed down the indictment last month.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been shown to warrant a trial.
