ROCHESTER - A Rochester man is facing up to a life sentence following his indictment on charges that included possessing and trafficking fentanyl.
Christopher Daly, 51, of South Main Street, Rochester, was arrested in Dover on Aug. 12, where "with force and arms" he possessed five grams or more of fentanyl, according to the charging documents released earlier this month.
Daly is facing elevated penalties because he was convicted of a similar offense in April of 2017.
In addition to the trafficking charge, he was also indicted on four separate possession counts and being a felon in possession after police found a collapsible baton during the August arrest in Dover.
Daly has been held at Strafford County Jail on no bail since his arrest, jail personnel said today.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been presented to a grand jury to move forward to trial.
