ROCHESTER - A Rochester man was charged with felony assault on Wednesday after police say he punched another man in the parking lot of a downtown fraternal club.

Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham said the alleged victim walked into the police department lobby around 7:20 p.m. to report that he had been assaulted and had some of his teeth knocked out.

"While speaking with the male it was evident and obvious he just recently lost some teeth," Pinkham said today. "The male (victim) stated he was sucker punched in the parking lot of the Club Victoire on North Main Street and that he knew who punched him.

Pinkham said after speaking with the other male involved, Brian Rodrigue, 55, of Brochu Court, was charged with second degree assault and released on personal recognizance bail pending an arraignment in Strafford Superior Court.

Second degree assault is a Class B felony punishable by up to seven years in state prison.
