ROCHESTER - Rochester hit a record high for Aug. 4 on Thursday with a temperature of 100, according to data from the National Weather Service in Gray, Maine.
Meteorologist Nikki Becker said Concord also had a record high for the day with 98.
NWS records for Rochester have only been kept since 2000, according to Becker, but records have been available for Concord since 1868.
She said Rochester has only had one other 100-degree since 2000, which was July 22, 2011.
Meanwhile Concord's overall record high was 102, twice recorded on July 3, 1966, and July 4 in 1911.
It should be noted that The Rochester Voice saw a temperature of 101 outside the Milton Road Market Basket. By the time we got to Milton it was down to a refreshing 98.
