CONCORD - A Rochester man found hiding in a closet was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on Friday.

Samuel Jeff 0Warren, this week's U.S. Marshal's, "Fugitive of the Week," had been wanted on multiple outstanding arrest warrants, including a Strafford County warrant for bail violations/failure to appear on an original narcotics offense, as well as multiple district court warrants for resisting arrest or detention, assault and failing to pay restitution on a theft offense.

After news of the manhunt was released the U.S. Marshals Service received several tips pointing to the Rochester.

The NH Joint Fugitive Task Force was then able to develop additional information pointing to an associate's apartment on Brochu Court in Rochester.

After searching the apartment and not locating Warren, three adjacent storage closets were checked, which led to the discovery of one of the closets being locked and noticeably occupied. Warren refused to open the closet door and it was forced open, at which time he was arrested without further incident.

The "Fugitive of the Week," featured regularly on WMUR and The Rochester Voice among other media outlets, continues to be a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of numerous fugitives since its implementation in 2007.

Additionally, the "Fugitive of the Week" is distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers.

Warren was transported to the Strafford County Jail for processing, and is being held pending his initial court appearances at a later date.

This arrest was made with the cooperative support of several members of the U.S. Marshals - N.H. Joint Fugitive Task Force including, members from the Belknap, Hillsborough, Strafford, & Rockingham County Sheriff's Offices, along with several officers from the Rochester Police Department.
