Repeat drug offender indicted again on Oct. possession charge while out on bail
Harrison Thorp 3:34 p.m.
DOVER - A Rochester woman indicted last year on heroin trafficking charges and in a fentanyl-overdose death in Rochester has been indicted yet again on drug charges, this time for possession of fentanyl in October while out on bail. Nina Batista, 22, of 40 Hancock St., stands charged with fentanyl possession in connection with the Oct. 6 arrest, which occurred in Dover. Batista faces up to seven years in prison if convicted on the most recent charge. Officials first learned of the fatal overdose Sept. 15 as responders were called around 1:10 p.m. to Osborne Street in Rochester for a report of an overdose. Upon arriving at the residence they located a 23-year-old male who was deceased from what appeared to be drug use. The Strafford County March indictments were handed down Thursday and released today. An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been gathered to warrant a trial.
