Portsmouth man, 25, killed in head-on crash on Route 1

NORTH HAMPTON - A Portsmouth man was killed on Thursday when vehicle collided head-on with an SUV on Route `.

The crash occurred around 9:45 p.m. near Granite Road.

Upon arrival, North Hampton Police determined that a 2007 Honda Civic was traveling southbound when it crossed over the double yellow line into the continuous middle turn lane and then a second double yellow line where it struck a 2019 Hyundai Tucson that was traveling northbound.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the Hyundai Tucson, Alexander Price, 25, of Portsmouth, was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Honda Civic, Matthew Meisner, 37, of Hampton, sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.

Due to the severity of the crash, the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Unit responded to the scene and assumed the lead of the investigation.
