Police suspect drug overdose in death of Dover woman

DOVER - Dover Police today announced they are investigating the death of a Dover woman that may be drug related.

Misty Foote, 49, was found dead in a Washington Street residence around 7:40 a.m. on May 6 where police and paramedics responded after receiving a call for service.

While the official cause of deaths will be determined by the Chief Medical Examiner, based on the investigation to date, Foote's death appears to be drug related.

If it is, it is the seventh in Dover this year and the fifth since March 1.

The recent overdose deaths include:

A 25 year old man who died on Cold Springs Road on February 13

A 38 year old man who died on Court Street on February 27

A 53 year old man who died on First Street during the first week of March

A 31 year old man who died on Country Club Estates on March 12

A 33 year old female who died on Mone's Folly Drive on April 22

A 33 year old man who died on Lilac Lane on April 25

Dover had nine suspected drug related deaths in 2019. In addition to the seven fatal overdoses in Dover this year, the Dover Police Department has responded to seven nonfatal drug overdoses.
