Police say woman was driving drunk with child in car and no plates

ROCHESTER - Police say a Rochester woman was driving drunk with a child passenger and no license plates when she crashed her car on Rochester Hill Road on Sunday.

Police became involved around 12:30 a.m. when dispatch received several 911 calls from concerned citizens regarding a vehicle driving erratically on South Main Street headed toward south.

The vehicle, later determined to be a Toyota Camry, was reported to have stuck the curb multiple times, crossed the center line, and struck a lamp post, finally coming to rest when it careened over a stone wall and struck several trees neare Colonial Hill Care and Rehab Center at 62 Rochester Hill Road.

Nicole Horne, 25, of Rochester, had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported with nonlife-threatening injuries to Frisbie Memorial Hospital where she was charged with aggravated DWI.

The vehicle suffered extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

Other charges against Horne included, endangering the welfare of a child, conduct after an accident, misuse or failure to display plates and driving an unregistered vehicle.

All of the offenses are misdemeanor or violation level offenses, and Horne was released on personal recognizance with an arraignment set for later this month.
