Police continue to probe Washington Street shooting

ROCHESTER - Rochester Police continue to investigate a shooting that occurred Saturday on Washington Street.

Police say the incident unfolded around 10:40 p.m. in the area of Yale and Hoover streets and resulted in one man being shot in the leg. Police first learned of the incident when Frisbie Memorial Hospital personnel reported they were treated a man for a gunshot wound.

The victim was treated and released after getting treatment for what was described as a nonlife threatening injury.

Police believe the parties involved are known to each other, and there is no danger to the public.

Rochester Capt. Todd Pinkham said on Wednesday that the case is still being actively investigated and that there was no further information available at this time.
