MANCHESTER - Two shooting incidents in Manchester on Monday left one man seriously injured after he dove through a second floor window to avoid the shooter and a dog was shot at 1:15 a.m. at 137 Orange St., according to police.
Arriving officers located a deceased dog and multiple shell cases inside the apartment, according to a Manchester police news release.
"Through the course of the investigation, police learned that a man known to the victims forced his way into the apartment. Almost immediately he began shooting and in the process, a dog was shot and killed.
"The people inside started to scatter and one man dove through a second floor glass window, suffering serious injuries. The intruder fled and the victim was later located on Myrtle Street and taken to the hospital," the release said.
A second shooting incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. Monday in the area of 52 Dubuque St. when police responded to a report of shots fired.
Callers said they heard multiple shots fired and immediately saw two vehicles leave the area.
There were no reported injuries, but the window of a nearby building was shattered by a bullet and shell casings were also found on the road.
