Rescue crews attend to an injured motorcyclist on Route 202 near Hubbard Road on Wednesday afternoon.

LEBANON - A pair of Lebanon crashes kept safety crews busy Wednesday afternoon and evening.

The first accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Carl Broggi Highway near Hubbard Road when a car collided with a motorcyclist who was thrown about 50 feet in the crash.

The 44-year-old motorcyclist from Sanford was transported to a local hospital with what are described as serious but nonlife-threatening injuries, according to a Lebanon Rescue press release.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet and a motorcycle jacket, which may have prevented more injuries.

The area of Route 202 near the accident was closed a short time as rescue crews attended to the victim.

The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured

In the second accident Rescue Crews responded to a rollover on Lower Guinea Road between Mills Road and Hartford Drive around 9:45 p.m.

When crews arrived they found the vehicle abandoned.

The car had apparently hit a tree and rolled over onto its roof and came to rest in the roadway.

Lower Guinea Road was closed in the area for about a half hour while responders worked the scene.

The vehicle was towed.

Both accidents are under investigation by Maine State Police.
