One injured in collision between oil truck, small car

ROCHESTER - A Middleton man was injured Friday night when the vehicle he was driving collided with an oil delivery truck on Chestnut Hill Road.

The accident occurred a little before 9 p.m. when Rochester Police say a 2002 Hyundai Elantra driven by Jared Dixon, 23, of Middleton, N.H., was traveling north on Chestnut Hill Road and struck the oil truck, which was driven by Dana Ferguson, 45, of Union, N.H.

Ferguson was backing his 2008 Kenworth oil truck into a driveway to make a delivery when the crash occurred, police said.

Dixon was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries. His vehicle was towed from the scene due to extensive damage. 

Chestnut Hill Road was closed for approximately30 minutes during the investigation.
