One dead, two injured as U-Haul truck crashes into tree on Chestnut Hill Road

ROCHESTER - One motorist was killed and two others hurt when a U-Haul truck went off the road and crashed into a tree on Saturday.

Rochester police say the crash occurred on Chestnut Hill Road in the area of Roger Allen Park around 12:50 p.m.

When police arrived they found the U-Haul truck with substantial damage in the northbound lane.

One passenger was found deceased, police said.

One passenger was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for serious injuries, police said, while the driver was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment.

The Strafford County Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the accident.

A portion of Chestnut Hill Road was shut down for several hours.

None of those involved in the crash were identified.
