NASHUA - One person died and another is in critical condition in a fire that swept through a home at 86 Langholm Drive in Nashua around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday.

When Nashua firefighters arrived on scene, they found heavy fire coming through the roof of the
single-family home. According to a Dept. of Safety press release, there were reports that an occupant was still inside the home prompting fire crews to make a swift entry where they removed a victim, who later died at the the hospital.
Two other residents were also transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center and later transferred to a Boston hospital. One of the residents was in critical condition while the second resident was in stable condition, according to safety officials.

Positive identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of their death, is pending an autopsy scheduled for later this week.

The investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is active and ongoing by members of the State Fire Marshal's Office, Nashua Fire Department and the Nashua Police Department.
