One dead in two-vehicle crash on Route 11 in Farmington

FARMINGTON - One motorist died in a two-vehicle Route 11 crash that occurred on Tuesday afternoon about a half a mile west of the Rochester line.

The collision involved a westbound sedan and a pickup truck headed in the opposite direction, Farmington Police Lt. Matt Embrey said today and happened in the area of Plank Industrial Drive.

The driver of the sedan sustained fatal injuries in the crash.

The conditions of a passenger in the sedan and the lone occupant of the pickup were not available.

Embrey said more information would become available as the investigation into the crash continues.

Names of the deceased and others involved were not released.

The crash occurred a little after 1 p.m., closing Route 11 for about four hours before it was reopened.

Rochester Police assisted with traffic detours near PIP Rental.
