ROCHESTER - Rochester Police today are in the hunt for a male suspect in a nighttime burglary on Rochester Hill Road.

Police dispatchers received a call around 3:40 a.m. on Tuesday from a resident who said he'd returned home to hear voices inside his residence and then heard them run outside.

"The resident found his back door open, could hear voices in the woods and noticed some property from inside on the lawn," Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham said today.

When police arrived they saw a female, later identified as Abigail Cook, 26, of Green Street, Somersworth, coming out of the woods.

Police determined she was involved and took her into custody.

Police then searched for the other person involved, believed to be male by the other voice heard, but were not successful, Pinkham added. Rochester Police then requested the assistance of a New Hampshire State Police K9 team, but the track was unsuccessful.

Cook was charged with burglary and is currently being held on no bail at the Strafford County House of Correction.

The investigation remains active at this time as they search for the male suspect.
