ROCHESTER - Roger A. Cornellier, 81, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, NH after a period of failing health.

Roger was born in Dover, on June 6th, 1932, the son of Albert and Beatrice (Dugas) Cornellier and had been living in Rochester since 2006, moving from Barrington. He was a U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran serving from 1951 to 1955 and served on the USS Missouri. He worked the Town Taxi and the City Taxi in Dover, the Simplex Wire & Cable Co. in Newington and most recently for the State of New Hampshire Department of Transportation. Roger was a member of the American Legion Post #47 in Rollinsford, as well as a member of the VFW and D.A.V. He was predeceased by two infant brothers, Norman and Thomas, a sister, Jean Laughton, and brothers Ronald and Richard Cornellier.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Marcia (Lemay) Cornellier, four daughters, Doreen Cornellier of Rhode Island, Cheryl and her husband Joseph Whitten of Wakefield, Donna (Cornellier) Gunter of Rochester and Jerrine Forbes of Dover. One brother Albert Cornellier J. of Florida. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Alicia Wallingford, Ashley Gunter, J.R. Whitten, Nickolas Ricker, Bethany Whitten, Brandon Whitten and Maxx Ricker, as well as two great-grand daughters, Kaylee and Alexis Wallingford, and several nieces and nephews.
