LEBANON - Leo D. Lapointe died peacefully at his home in Lebanon on February 14 after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was a very young 60 years old.

He was born in Rochester, on Aug. 10, 1953, the son of Joseph E. and Florence (Thibeault) Lapointe. He grew up on Somersworth, and moved to Lebanon in 1987.

He had been employed with General Electric and Thompson Center Arms. He also worked for a few years as a landscaper.

He enjoyed playing the bongos, the harmonica and drums. He looked forward to his annual camping trip to White Lake, and enjoyed gardening. Most of all, however, he enjoyed his family.

Survivors include his son Gabriel Lapointe and his companion Felicia McPhee of Lebanon, daughter Autumn Lapointe of Saco, brothers Ronald Lapointe and his wife Denise of Sanford, David Lapointe and his wife Dawn of Gonic, Dick Lapointe and his wife Phyllis of New Hampshire, sister Lena Berube and her husband Peter of Strafford, granddaughter Ashley Horlor of Orono, grandson Tyler Giles of Damariscotta, his former wife of 24 years Susan Lapointe of North Berwick, several nieces and nephews and his special friend Janet Fernald of East Rochester.
