ROCHESTER - D. Gayle Furber, 71, died unexpectedly at her home on Monday, February 3, 2014.

Gale was born in Rochester, on January 20, 1942, the daughter of Theodore and Dorothy (Sterns) Russell and was a lifelong resident of Rochester. She was very active at her church, the First Church Congregational in Rochester, was a Past-Grand Matron with the Grand Chapter Eastern Star, and a member of the Eastern Star, James Farrington Pleiades #7 chapter. She was also a Past Mother Advisor of the Rochester Assembly #11 of the International Order of Rainbow for girls and was an avid horse enthusiast. She was predeceased by two children, Eric Furber and Bethany Furber.

She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Richard Furber of Rochester, one grandson Sho Gibson of Milton, and one brother, Theodore Russell of Hampton.
