NORTHFIELD - Autopsies performed Thursday on a Northfield mother and her two sons found they each died of a single gunshot wound.

Police additionally determined that the deaths of 25-year-old Kassandra Sweeney, four-year-old Benjamin and one-year-old Mason were the result of homicides, which means the deaths were caused by another individual.

Police got involved in this horrific crime upon a 911 call for service around 11:35 a.m. Wednesday at 56 Wethersfield Drive.

When they arrived officers located the three dead at the scene.

A statement from the Attorney Generals Office on Thursday did not release the location of the wounds. It also noted they have "identified all involved parties," and there is no threat to the general public.
