After weeks and months of pretty mundane weather patterns across the Greater Rochester area, Thanksgiving day travel could be disruptive across parts of New Hampshire and Maine, including rain, snow and often a mixture.
The precipitation Thanksgiving Day is expected to begin as rain some time in the afternoon and could turn to snow as darkness falls.
According to Accuweather meteorologists, the snow/rain line runs southeast to northwest through Rochester with less than an inch predicted, however that could change if the line moves father to the north.
As of today the probability of precipitation on Thursday is 82 percent with a high of 41 and a low of 31.
According to AAA projections, the typical distance traveled for Thanksgiving dinner is around 50 miles or more from home, with many Americans driving this distance or further to reach their family gatherings for the holiday.
The next wintry storm comes a week later on Dec. 5 when about four inches of snow will accumulate over a 12-hour period.
