DOVER - Nicholas A. Blougouras of Dover joined his wife Nicholetta in eternity when he died peacefully on Thursday, July 29. He was 95 years old. His passing occurred 10 years to the day of his wife's death.

He was born January 26, 1926 in Platanovresi, Greece, the son of Athanasios and Gianoula (Nikitas). He worked from childhood to support his family, which included ten siblings. In the late 1950s, he moved to Dover. Once settled, he returned to Greece to marry and returned to Dover permanently in 1960.

Nicholas worked a number of factory-type jobs, including over 40 years at Davidson Rubber as an oven operator until his retirement. He enjoyed cooking and reading, especially history, politics, and current affairs. He was a fan of the Marx Brothers movies. Though he lacked much in the way of a formal education, he always had a curious mind and could often be surprisingly knowledgeable. Like many people of his time and culture, he projected a somber exterior, but that only concealed a generous, warm-hearted interior with a good sense of humor, a quick wit, and a deep love for his family.

He was predeceased by his wife Nicholetta Blougouras on July 29, 2011; a number of sisters, and most recently his brother Giannis.

He is survived by his son Arthur and his wife Jennifer and their two children, Nicholas and June, all of New Providence, New Jersey; his sister Maria of Long Island, NY; his sister Panagiotta in Greece; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
