New current-case map shows 15 in Rochester, 40 in Dover

CONCORD - For the first time since the state DHHS began issuing daily updates on COVID-19 in early March, a chart was released on Tuesday that shows current confirmed cases as well as cumulative in many New Hampshire towns.

The numbers show 15 active cases in Rochester, 40 in Dover, eight in Barrington and six in Somersworth. Cities and towns with less than five cases don't show a case count. Farmington and Milton are reported in the 1-4 range.

Meanwhile, health officials announced 50 new positive test results including four under the age of 19 for a cumulative total of 2,636.

Officials said the number of tests reported today is lower due to specimens collected during Saturday or Sunday, when healthcare providers typically see fewer patients.

The new cases reside in Rockingham (11), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (6), Merrimack (5), Strafford (5) Carroll (1), Cheshire (1), Grafton (1) and counties, and in the cities of Manchester (16) and Nashua (3).

Nine new hospitalized cases were identified for a total of 295 (11%).

DHHS has also announced six additional deaths related to COVID-19: a Hillsborough County woman 60 or older, a Hillsborough County man 60 or less, two Rockingham County women 60 or older, a Rockingham County man 60 or older and a Strafford County woman 60 or older.

In Maine, confirmed cases rose to 1,226 including 187 hospitalizations and 61 deaths. Current hospitalizations stand at 36.
