The New Hampshire man killed and two Maine men injured in a horrific three-boat crash on a Massachusetts pond Saturday have been identified.

Killed in the incident on a Taunton pond was Mark Green, 39, of Moultonborough, according to NECN reports.

Meanwhile, Stephen Joy, 67, of Bangor, was reported in critical condition at a local hospital, while Alex Poliakoff, 72, of Richmond, suffered only minor injuries.

The crash occurred as the three hydroplanes were traveling about 65 mph during a race when the operator of the first boat spun out of control causing a pileup.

All three men were ejected from the boats. Green was pronounced dead at the scene, NECN reported.

The Massachusetts environmental police are investigating the crash.

The hydroplanes participating in the races at Watson Pond were similar to the ones that race at Milton during its summer kickoff celebration in June though it's not known if members of the South Shore Outboard Association that organizes the Milton races were involved in the races.
