ROCHESTER - A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the opening of Meredith Village Savings Bank's new branch office at 21 Farmington Road in Rochester on Tuesday.

Representatives from the chamber, city, bank employees, and community members were present to celebrate. In his remarks at the event, incoming MVSB President Marcus Weeks said that the mutual savings bank has been serving its communities for more than 150 years and they look forward to serving the Rochester community for the next 150 years and beyond that.

Jolene Whitehead, branch and business development manager for the Rochester location, expressed her appreciation to the community for the warm welcome they have received. "There is such a great sense of community in Rochester and we are excited to be a part of all the good things happening here," she said.

MVSB's Rochester office was designed by Warrenstreet Architects, Inc. and construction was managed by Conneston Construction, Inc. The office marries the warmth of a community bank with high-end technology.

The branch includes drive up banking, a self-service coin counter and an ATM.

MVSB has additional locations in Ashland, Alton, Center Harbor, Gilford, Melvin Village, Meredith, Moultonborough, Plymouth, Portsmouth and Wolfeboro.

Mayor Paul Callaghan congratulated Meredith Village Savings Bank on their new location and welcomed them to Rochester.

"MVSB has been eager to get involved in the community through the chamber and with their support of local nonprofits and events," said Laura Ring, President and CEO for Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce. "We were so pleased to help them celebrate their opening with this special ceremony."

The Bank also invites the community to celebrate with them on Monday for their grand opening celebration from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to see the new branch and meet the team and enjoy giveaways, fun and delicious cupcakes and ice cream from the Clyde's Cupcakes truck.
