FARMINGTON - A Rochester motorcyclist died on Sunday when the Harley Davidson he was riding drifted off of Route 75, went down a six-foot embankment and landed in a culvert.

Harry Sexton, 63, of Portland Street, was less than a half mile from the intersection of Main and Elm Street (Route 75) and in the area of Skyview Drive when his bike went off the right shoulder, Farmington Police Chief John Drury said today.

He said the road at that point curves slightly to the left and Sexton's bike drifted off to the right.

Drury said that a pair of Good Samaritans got him out of the culvert, but that Sexton passed en route to a hospital.

He added that the cause of the crash is unknown, but it appears neither speed nor alcohol were factors.

Tributes, remembrances and condolences were pouring in on Sexton's Facebook page today.
